Volcanodle

Puzzle #90 was Falso Azufre.

The Falso Azufre volcanic complex is a 15-km-long, E-W trending group of overlapping craters, lava domes, and composite cones extending from Chile into Argentina. The western portion includes the high point and principal edifice of the complex, Cerro Falso Azufre, and consists of overlapping craters that produced dominantly pyroclastic products.

What the record says

Puzzle 90 ran on 7 Oct 2026 and the answer was Falso Azufre, played with 6 guesses against 8 columns. On the record: Country - Chile-Argentina; Region - South America Volcanic Regions; Type - complex; Tectonic setting - subduction; Elevation - >5000; Historically observed - not-observed. 2 of the 8 columns are blank in the source (Last eruption and Rock type), so nobody could score them either way.

Volcanodle builds its record from Global Volcanism Program, Smithsonian Institution (Venzke, E. (ed.), Volcanoes of the World, volcano.si.edu). The description above comes from the same place the game credits on every reveal: A verbatim excerpt of the volcano's GVP Geological Summary. The puzzle itself is still playable in the archive, and every answer that has been and gone is listed on the past-answers page.
